counting in hindi

The numbers are strings made up of numbers used to indicate magnitude. They measure size - how big or small an amount is. There are many types of numbers, but they fall into two main categories: the counting numbers and scalars.

Counting numbers, Natural Numbers

These are used to count the number of objects. These are whole positive numbers, and have zero fractional parts. Examples include 12 cars, 45 students, three houses. For more details on this, visit Counting numbers and Natural numbers.

Scalars

They are Hindi numbers used to measure certain quantities to any level of precision. For instance, a height of a structure is 12.388 meters, and the speed of an aircraft has been measured as 810.31 km/h. They can be decimal or fractional parts. Also, see the definition of a Scalar. Within this category , there are several types of number:

  • Real numbers are ones which are either positive, negative or even zero and may have decimal points or even fractional components. They are among the most popular numbers used in measuring quantities. Example 31.88 centimeters. They typically have units. For more see Real number definition.
  • IntegersIntegers whole numbers that can be negative, positive or zero, however, they don't have decimal points as well as fractional parts. They are like the count numbers, but are also negative. For more details, refer to Integer Definition.
  • Positive or negative number are those considered to be greater than zero. A big positive number is greater than a smaller one, for example +12 is greater than +2. To learn more, check out the Positive number definition.Negative numbers are those that are considered to be lower than zero. They could be interpreted as deficits or debts. If, for instance, there is no money in your account and owe someone or more, you could think of your wallet as having negative $112. In a way you have less than zero dollars. For more on this see Negative Number Definition.
  • Rational and Irrational number Rationalnumbers are those that can be expressed using the term "ratio" to two decimals.
The word "rational" comes from 'ratio'. For instance, the number 0.5 is considered to be rational because it can be written in proportional to 1/2 . For more see Rational number definition.Irrational numbers are those that are not rational, that is those that cannot be written as the ratio of two integers. For more see Irrational numbers definition.
  • The numbers of the imagination are that are needed to calculate the square root of negative numbers, which would not normally be possible. So for example an example of the square root -16 could be written as 4i 4i, where i is the symbol for the square root of a negative one. For more details on this, refer to Imaginary number definition.
  • Complex numbersRecall that the real numbers are those that lie on a number line. Complex numbers extend this concept to numbers that lie on a flat, two-dimensional plane. Complex numbers have two partscalled the real and imaginary parts. See Complex number definition.
  • Primitive numbers are integer which does not have any factors (Integers that divides a given number without a remainder) that are not one itself. This means that it can be divided only by one and the number itself. 17 is an integer prime. 16 is not because it is able to be divided by 2, 4 and 8.A combination number, however is one that is not prime. It does contain factors, and therefore is the reverse of being a prime number. See Composite number definition.

Number notation(counting in english)

There are various ways that numbers are written or drawn.

  • The number lineA number line is a graphical way to visualize number by placing them on an uniform line, typically using zero as the central point with positive numbers on the right , while negative numbers to the left.
For more details, see the number line.
  • Decimal notationThe most common way of representing actual numbers. A string of numbers and a decimal point (dot). The numbers to the left of the dot are increasing powers of ten. Those to the right are growing negative powers of ten. Example 836.33 , -45.009.
  • FractionsA fraction is a two-dimensional quantity written one above one another, which illustrates how much of totality we possess. For instance, we can be able to have 3 quarters a pizza:34of a pizza. For more details, see Fraction definition.
  • Normal form (Scientific notation)For very large and extremely small numbers the decimal notation isn't the most effective. A number in normal form is composed of two parts of a coefficient as well as an exponent (power of ten). For instance the distance from the Sun is 9.3000000 miles. This can be conveniently written as 93x10 six miles. The coefficient is 93, and 6 . is an exponent. For more details, see Standard form (scientific note).

Certain numbers are not even numbers in any way

Sometimes numbers are used to identify objects. Instead of determining how large something is or calculating things they are used to mark objects that are in use. For instance, a student ID number is not used to measure anything. It is simply the number of digits in a string which identify a particular student.

It is absurd to attempt to do arithmetic using these numbers. Dividing student numbers by two or determining an equation for the square root in a telephone number is meaningless.
